Founded by Deborah Nease and George Ghilarducci, Wella's first product was Wella Bars, which hit the refrigerated market space in 2015. Having previously manufactured organic Mediterranean-style sauces under the name Cibo Naturals (which are carried in Whole Foods and Costco), the founders are adept at navigating the refrigerated products space along with manufacturing and retail partnerships.
Wella Organics (the name change occurred last year) is now deepening their look at the refrigerated snack space and seeing what else they can produce that's organic, natural and clean. "It fits our ethos," Ghilarducci said at the NOSH Live Summer show in 2018.
So what sets Wella apart? Well, beyond all their products being certified organic, non-GMO and free of any added hormones or antibiotics, they taste great!
