Terra Accelerator: May 12th, 2019
TERRA, put on by Rabobank and RocketSpace, is a food and agriculture accelerator with a mostly online curriculum. Startups are paired with Corporate Collaborators, with whom they work on a pilot project. TERRA also takes no equity.
WeWork Food Labs Accelerator: May 15th, 2019
The first year of WeWork's Food Labs Accelerator begins soon, and it's a natural next step for the We Company after the recent launch of their Food Lab in NYC. Access to the Lab, with its new R&D kitchen, is certainly a big perk!
SOCA / Seeds of Change Accelerator: May 31, 2019
Mars' accelerator program gives participants $25,000 in grant money upon acceptance, with the possibility for more. They'll also receive mentorship from Mars employees, access to work space in Chicago, and a customized 4-month program.
Springboard Incubator: June 14th, 2019
Springboard is one of the newer incubators, but with many advantages offered to its cohorts. Springboard is based in Chicago, but with flexible in-person requirements for most of the program. Previous cohort members include Cleveland Kraut and Kumana.
Food-X Accelerator: July 14th, 2019 (for Fall cohort)
Arguably the most well-known of the food accelerators, Food-X has a lot to offer its cohorts. The co-working space, programming, and alumni network are enviable in scope. Food-X is also welcoming early applications by June 9th, 2019, with the opportunity for an early interview at the end of June.
BeyondSKU: August 1, 2019 (for Cohort 1)
BeyondSKU is a CPG accelerator for companies under $3m in revenue. The program is based in NYC for 12 weeks, and cohort members have access to a broad network of mentors. The program is put on by Beyond Brands.
FaBcap Accelerator: August 2nd, 2019 (for Cohort 4)
This accelerator, for Wisconsin-based food and beverage companies, is a 9-month business and finance program. Cohort members have access to personalized coaching, educational programming, and even a $10,000 cash award.
Food System 6: September 30th, 2019 (for 2020 cohort)
This non-residential, California-based accelerator is run by a non-profit devoted to building the "next" food system. They do not provide financial support, but do leverage a large network of mentors and investors to help cohort companies obtain capital.
Food Foundry Accelerator: October 16th, 2019 (for Cohort 2)
This Chicago-based accelerator is put on by RelishWorks and local distributor Gordon Food Service. Cohort members receive $75k in venture capital funding to grow their business. Remote applicants are considered, but will be expected to travel for at least one week per month for the duration. CPG companies are not accepted.
FoodFutureCo Accelerator: November 15th, 2019 (for Cohort 6)
FoodFutureCo is a twice-yearly accelerator with a slightly non-traditional model: they're looking for established companies with proof of concept and ready to scale (aka "on track to $1MM in sales"). They're also interested in mission-driven businesses. Their second cohort of the year, Cohort 6, is now accepting applications.
Good Food Accelerator: Fall 2019
There's no official date yet, but this well-known accelerator program plans to open applications for its 2020 cohort in Fall of 2019. For more information about their unique program, catch our interview with Director Chelsea Callahan Huson!
